Family law isn’t just what Penny does—it’s where she makes a difference. As a senior litigation attorney, she fights for clients facing custody battles, divorce, property division, spousal and child support disputes, domestic violence matters, and grandparents seeking time with their grandchildren. She also handles premarital and separation agreements, modifications, enforcement actions, and breach of agreement claims throughout Charlotte and the western counties of North Carolina.
Penny knows firsthand that divorce is one of life’s hardest chapters. Having navigated her own, she brings more than legal skill to the table—she brings understanding. But don’t mistake compassion for softness. Penny spent years handling complex commercial litigation at major firms in New York City. She later dedicated her practice to family law. She knows how to prepare, how to fight, and how to win.
During a brief hiatus from law, Penny taught eighth-grade math—which means she has the patience to explain the process clearly and the persistence to see it through. She empowers her clients with knowledge so they can make confident decisions about their futures.
Penny earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina, graduating Summa Cum Laude in just three years. She received her law degree from Cornell Law in 2003, with additional study in international and comparative law at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
When she’s not in the courtroom, Penny spends time with her son and two daughters, travels, hikes, and occasionally jumps out of airplanes. She approaches life—and the law—with her whole heart and zero hesitation.
